Sensual Embodiment

Intuitive Movement Workshop

Sensual Embodiment a freeform, guided movement class that reconnects you to your sensations & eroticism.

Body awareness is one of the foundational skills I teach my clients as a sex & relationship therapist & it’s a skill I believe every artist needs.

It’s invaluable to every single aspect of your life: confidence, pleasure, presence, connection, & expression.

Eroticism as Audre Lorde defined it, is a deep, life-force kind of power. Not a performance.

This isn’t about how you look. It’s entirely about how you feel.

No mirrors, no choreography to get ‘right’, low lights & great music.

Details:

  • Date: Tuesday 29th September 2026

  • Time: 7:30pm - 9pm

  • Location: Studio 2, TAPAC, 100 Motions Road, Western Springs, Auckland

  • Cost: $45

No dance experience required. No performance expected. No sharing required. Just you, your senses, & permission to move like nobody's watching (because nobody is).

Suitable for all bodies, all genders & adults of all ages.

Nothing we do is a sexual practice.

Spaces are limited to 25 participants.

An overview of the workshop:

  • Arrive, ground, a quick education on the practice & intention setting

  • Gentle descent into the body using breath work & movement

  • A series of movement exercises that guide you to get out of your busy head, connect with your body & your aliveness

  • We close with a self-love meditation, grounding & integration

So amazing thank you! Super liberating! Such a release! Exactly what I needed. I can’t remember ever dancing so free.

Who is your facilitator?

Michelle Kasey is an award-winning sex & relationships therapist (“best sex therapist 2023 & 2024”) burlesque artist (“burlesque performer of the year 2026”), and co-owner of ‘The Velvet Haven’ Burlesque Schools in Auckland and Wellington.

Her journey into this work began in a pole dancing studio & has developed over more than 14 years as a cabaret performer and teacher, giving her a perspective that few practitioners can offer.

She brings together embodied experience as a dancer & performer with therapeutic expertise, working in a somatic, trauma-informed, & playful way.

Since 2018, she has worked with thousands of clients through private sessions, group courses, and workshops, supporting people of all genders to develop a more alive, honest, and nourishing relationship with themselves.

She has written for The Spinoff, The Herald and performed on stages from intimate venues to crowds of 40,000.

What to bring?

Wear something comfortable enough to move in. I recommend wearing layers & socks. You'll be on your feet moving at times, & on the floor seated or lying (as you choose) at times.

A water bottle & an open mind are the only other essentials. Everything else will be provided.

I’m overflowing & I feel ALIVE!”
